On February 22, 2012, the Lenten Season of fasting began for those who follow the catholic Christian faith. (And by the way, catholic does not mean you lean to the pope in Rome… It means universal.) Last year at this time, I gave up speaking for forty days! WOW! That was very difficult, but rewarding. This year I also wanted to sacrifice something that I really enjoy (and yes, I do enjoy conversation but not giving up talking again… At least for a good long while!) The choice came to me pretty quick.
But before I tell you what it is, I would like to share the true meaning of Lenten sacrifice. It means giving up for forty days something that is difficult to do without. We do this because it reminds us that sacrifice is love, the deepest and purest form of love. Jesus sacrificed his life on a cross for our salvation.
